Level Self Funding 101 ensuring you are versed in selling to your client.  Discussion will include what your client must know before going self-insured, why staying fully-insured may not be the best idea, and MAC tools to help covered employees use healthcare dollars more wisely.  

 

David Adams

David entered the insurance industry in 1969 with Pacific Life & Annuity.  He served many roles there but culminated in his becoming the Regional Sales Manager for the Atlanta, Tampa and Charlotte Group Offices.  In 1989 he left to work for Provident Life and Accident then, in 1993, moved to APB America as the AIM Sales Director.  In 2000, David was asked to return to Pacific Life & Annuity, but in 2003 David joined Purchasing Alliance Solutions, Inc. and has not looked back.

 David has been a Guest Instructor to the University of Georgia Insurance Department and is an approved CE Instructor for both the Georgia and Alabama Associations of Health Underwriters teaching on topics such as: Self-Insurance, Pharmacy Benefit Management, the Future of the Insurance Industry, Becoming the Agent of the Future, International Medical Tourism and PPACA.  He has been a member of the National Association of Health Underwriters for over 20 years and is one of the only two-term Past Presidents of the Georgia Associations of Health Underwriters.  He has served as GAHU’s Legislative Chair and as the Georgia Host Committee Chairman for the NAHU National Convention held in Atlanta.  David also served as the National Association of Health Underwriters Regional Membership Chair and currently serves with the South Atlanta AHU Chapter.  He is a recipient of the NAHU Distinguished Service Award and the Kathy Cruse-Health Underwriter of the Year Award, the highest honor bestowed on a GAHU member. 

 David, the father of two “eagles scouts”, is also a Silver Beaver recipient, the highest honor bestowed upon a Boy Scouts of America volunteer, David has served more positions at the Unit and Area Council Level than any other volunteer in Atlanta’s history.  He was a Wood Badge Course Director for many years, providing the highest caliber of organizational and life skills training available to Scout Leaders.  He is a financial supporter of the GAHU Insure the Cure charitable fundraiser for Cystic Fibrosis and the JDRF Walk for a Cure. 

 He is a graduate of Georgia Southern University and lives with his lovely wife in Marietta.
